Rate of Pay: $55,000 salary
Required Qualifications:
The Program Manager will function in a planning and supervisory role to ensure the organization meets all industry standards and best practices for ski area programming. Program Manager ensures ski area programs, safety plans, and training resources comply with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. This position is an executive management level position responsible for overseeing a middle management team across multiple departments and may fill a variety of positions to supplement operational roles across departments as needed.
The Program Manager directly oversees Education and Community Development within the organization. This responsibility involves supervision over the following areas: Alpine Education Programming, Rental Equipment, Food & Beverage, and Events.
Primary Responsibilities:
- • Develop and grow Skeetawk’s Alpine Education Programming to include, but not limited to: ski lessons, snowboard lessons, avalanche education, youth certification programs, medical education, and summer programming.
- • Oversee Alpine Education, Rental Equipment, and Food and Beverage management staff and department operations.
- • Develop and coordinate special event programming for summer and winter recreation.
- • Foster relationships with outside organizations to facilitate partnerships, increasing access to outdoor recreation.
- • Develop and execute a multi-department annual budget efficiently and within financial constraints of the organization.
- • Maintain accurate record keeping processes, cash handling procedures, and reporting.
- • Hire, train, and supervise staff to execute organization objectives and deliver high customer service.
- • Collaborate with Executive Staff to foster organization development through multi-phase development goals.
Required Qualifications:
- • Minimum 10+ years of experience in ski area education and ski area operations or related field
- • Experience in outdoor recreation education curriculum development.
- • Leadership and “Train the Trainer” level experience in outdoor recreation education, ski/snowboard equipment, food and beverage service, and outdoor recreation event coordination.
- • High level computer skills, including Microsoft products, Adobe products, Google suite, and multiple accounting software platforms
- • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather for long periods of time, and the ability to lift 50lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- • Experience working in non-profit organizations, specifically in an executive management role
- • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or outdoor recreation
- • PSIA-AASI Level III Certification
- • Food Protection Manager Certification – or the ability to obtain within one year of onboarding
