BACKCOUNTRY GATE
Skeetawk’s Backcountry Area remains OPEN to the public for non-motorized use. The backcountry area is not patrolled; rescue is the responsibility of the user. Users should expect to encounter heavy machinery and trail crew operations at any point. Please respect the backcountry area and treat it as you would any other backcountry area.
Backcountry users are welcome to park in Skeetawk’s parking lot. There is no parking fee, but please feel free to make a donation online, or purchase a Skeetawk Membership for $35. No overnight parking allowed.
General Info
- • Hikers may still access the trails and backcountry when the gate is closed; just don’t block the gate when you park below!
- • Public restrooms are available all week
- • Yurt services are only available Friday & Saturday
- • Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leash and picked up after
- • No overnight parking or camping
- • Government Peak can be accessed via Frostbite Ridge
