Ski Mountaineering, SKIMO, for short, is an event where racers don skis and skins to race up through Skeetawk’s phase 1b region and ski back down. This event is broken into four categories: Adult Men’s (18+), Adult Women’s (18+), Youth Men’s (12-17), and Youth Women’s (12-17).
2.5-mile race with 2800′ of elevation gain.

- 9:00 Pickup race bibs and day of registration.
- 9:45 Registration closes
- 9:45 Racer safety meeting
- 10:15 Skimo race starts
- 2:00 Awards ceremony (between band 1 and band 2), must be present to win. Prizes for the winners of each category.
Requirements
- • Skis with skins, or splitboards with skins, are the only allowed methods of participation. SNOWSHOES ARE NOT ALLOWED.
- • Helmets are required to participate in this event.
- • Avalanche beacons are required; avalanche shovel and probe are not required to be carried by the participant.
- • All participants must be finished before 1:30 pm. Participants may be cut-off due to time constraints.
- • All pre- and post-race uphill travel MUST take place on designated uphill travel routes. Any unauthorized uphill travel may result in removal from the event at the discretion of Skeetawk Management.
- • Participants must be 12+ years of age to enter this event.
